I erased my internal hard disk and tried to use my Time Machine to back up. But a whole week has passed and it still restore!!!! I read online that's normal and it's better to leave it since the numbers or house and minutes keep chamging. But MORE THAN WEEK!!!?
Maybe I did something wrong ><

My Time Machine is WD. I'm restoring about 400GBs. And my macbookpro is 2013.

Don't stop now

How is the hard drive connected to the computer, ethernet/wireless (NAS), or a DAS setup, i.e., USB?

The external hard disk connected by USB. And i'm using ethernet too. Though I don't know if ethernet will speed up the restore.

What kind of external hard disk are you using to back up?
I'm using WD my passport ultra.

If you use a very old USB hard disk which only supports USB 1 or 2 you will be stuck with terrible speed.

If not, change your external hard disk ASAP after the restore.

Best performance is by way if USB. Looks like WD my passport ultra. is a USB only drive.

At this stage, you're hands are tied until it finishes up.

My thoughts and my opinion only:

Do you really need to keep 400gbs "of stuff" on the internal drive?

Next time, try either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper.

If you don't have a USB3 backup drive, BUY ONE.

I waited but then I back to my MacBook pro to see it shut down!! I opened it again, after the apple logo it asked me to log in. I did. The grey line took much time. After that a black screen has appeared I can move my crosur tho. I waited for about 10 min but nothing changed. After that I shut it down and boot into safe mood. Then it showed me Time Machine's transfering window, and it stuck in saying "resuming migration" maybe it didn't finish restoring? I don't know what do!

There is absolutely something not right here. My TM restore yesterday from a 2,5" 500gb HDD on USB2.0 on my late 2011 mbp took 1 hour 20 minutes. The backup was about 70 gb in size. no way it should take more than a few hours for 400gb even with a super slow drive (like mine) on a super slow port (like I did). My guess is, that your WD hard drive has a high amount of broken sectors and thus slows down extremely while trying to read the data. maybe it will never finish the restore... for me it looks like a failing hdd.

Seconded. Sounds like a failing drive. Or possibly a faulty USB controller, but I'm guessing it's the drive.

If the WD drive is failing, this illustrates why it's better to keep at least TWO backups. Because at a critical moment, your backup could fail, too.

OP:
I suggest you put the WD drive aside for now.
Concentrate on getting a clean OS installed and running on the MacBook.

Then, you might consider using Time Machine (NOT migration assistant) to browse the stuff on the WD drive, and begin "bringing it over" in smaller chunks -- not "all at once".

If some sectors of the WD drive are bad, you may be able to slowly migrate "the good stuff" and leave the bad (corrupted) files behind.

And again...
Think about CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper instead of Time Machine.
You relied on TM, and where did it leave you in a "moment of need"...?

Time Machine of CCC is somewhat moot in this case. Drive is still failing (it would appear).
Totally agree about multiple back-ups though. 100%.

Even better, keep one off-site somewhere if possible.
