I use a Sony Lightning port Alarm clock to charge my phone at night and wake me up in the morning. It continues playing the podcast/radio show I went to sleep to so I can continue listening. Much preferred by me. Hence why I prefer open bottomed cases, also for a time I used the lightning adapter which is only usable with open bottom cases.

He was specifically asking about the top being exposed, not the bottom

So I am scheduled to get my iPhone 6 plus today, problem is there are no cases for it out yet. I have always used the Otterbox defender. Does anyone know of a really good protective case for the iPhone 6 Plus that I can purchase now

Awful cases. The branding. The cut-outs. The bulkiness. The styling. The colors. Stupid kickstands. Terrible leather materials. Worthless craps. Not exclusive to this thread. What happened to your tastes, people? Sexy and beautiful phone being covered by these craps. :p Okay, I am done with this forum. I Am all set with my choice. :D

Seriously do you still purchase that kind of cases?..... those are designs from 3GS/i4/4S era. I cant believe they are still producing them.

Hey, just because you aren't using them doesnt mean that other people don't. :(

I buy the iPhone for it's function, not it's looks. I'm spending over $900 on a PHONE!!! I don't really care about how it looks to you! I want to protect it the best I can with something that feels good in my hand but still protects it from what it'll be exposed to. I get my hands dirty and my phone takes a beating (I don't wear a suit and sit at a desk).

However, with a decent case and some common sense I've not damaged one iPhone since I got the very first one. As a matter of fact my iPhone always looks better then my son's iPhone after 2 years and he baby's his while not using a case.

That said, if I did work at a desk then I might be tempted to not use a case for 2 reasons. First is that it wouldn't be exposed to the rough elements and handling and the second is that I'd probably be able to afford repair and/or replacement.
