Interesting to hear the classic leather buckle seemed thin. It looks pretty thick in all of the pictures I have seen.

I tried it, and while it seemed fairly plain, it was about as thick as most leather bands I've worn. It's actually the one I have on order since it ships earlier. I also have a Milanese loop band on order, as well.

A Watch Guy's Thoughts On The Apple Watch.....

"Apple absolutely, positively, indisputably NAILED its straps and bracelets. In addition to offering a bevy of options from leather to fluoroelastomer to link bracelets to Milanese, it is here that you really see how much attention Apple was paying to the way people wear watches, and the how bad existing options were."

Would I be right in thinking that you either work for Apple or are maybe a fanboy? When a new iPhone comes out are you one of the first people in the queue?

I don't think you have to work for Apple or be a fanboy to think they made some good choices for these first bands. If not then there would not be an estimated 2 million PLUS pre-orders. I am absolutely NOT an Apple fanboy but I love new technology. I absolutely hate their computers and laptops and only have my phone and an iPad 2 that is mostly a nice kindle reader for me (and a few games when I fly).

The Classic Leather and SS Link are timeless classics that anyone can wear. I would bet that 90% or more people here had never seen a Milanese loop before even though they are fairly standard.

Apple is now primed to make a fortune on limited edition bands. They even showed some this weekend at Milan Fashion Week that people are already drooling over. Once the dust settles they should make some limited edition ones for us to fight over. The project Red ones should always be available because the proceeds are for charity but they could do all kinds of crazy colors for limited release.

They could do special runs of maybe 50,000 only or make them to order but only if you buy them during a small window of time. I know a few watch collectors that have made a fortune buying and selling watches. I am certain there are collectors out there who are going crazy trying to figure out how to get those colors shown in Milan and that's just for SPORT bands.

If you check out ECCO (they make our Classic Leather buckle) you will see they can do AMAZING things with leather. I would love to see some special bands come from them. Faux Alligator would sell BIG.

I am not sure why everyone thinks the leather loop band is plastic feeling. I tried on a blue and black medium leather loop band at the Apple Store and it felt very comfortable and I felt the leather to see what the texture felt like. The leather does have a specific pattern to it and it does have different feel to it, then say the Classic Leather Buckle. The leather still feels like leather, not plastic. I guess people think because it is not dull leather, but a little shiny, they think it looks plastic looking. If you look closely, the shine is gone. The leather itself is really nice. The Classic Leather Buckle does feel softer than the Loop, but it doesn't mean it better leather. I would have bought the Classic Leather Buckle, but with the size of my wrist, where the holes were, it was either too loose or too tight. I always have problems with most buckles because they never match my width correctly on my wrist.

I ended up getting the medium Black Leather Loop Band. The leather felt fine, not plastic. Besides, it fits really well on my wrist. It is probably the best fitting band for me. Plus, it really looks nice. My daughter and most people that were standing around all said the band looked the best on me compared to all the other bands I tried on.

Again this is my opinion, just like everyone has their own opinion. I suggest everyone that wants to buy a band for the watch go see it for yourself and make your own judgements. If you are going off the pictures, don't! The pictures are not what they really look like. Some are better looking than the picture and some are worst.

I think some of the bands are nice enough, but as a watch enthusiast, I am also underwhelmed overall.

I hate the 70s look the stainless. The classic leather is boring. The sport bands debuted with odd color choices. The modern buckle is nice, but only comes in 38mm and is also the one that is shipping the latest.

The milanese is my favorite for sure, but I do wish it was a bit beefier chain link.

Just because they have millions of preorders doesn't mean they are good. Just look at how many iPhone 6 and 6+ phones they sold and they are far from the best phones and anyone who says they are are fooling themselves.

I wanted to see how trollish you are, so I went back to see your older posts. The one you posted not 8 minutes before this one said you use a Blackberry Passport and a Nokia, and that both make iOS look "amateurish."

Ok... To each their own I suppose?

Have you used either phone because if you have and you still say that they don't show Apple up for being slow and stuttering then I will have no problem calling bull to you.

You can go back and look at my other posts and also see where I say how I like iOS but I suppose it wouldn't suit you to see them.

I like different phones so what, just because I have an iPhone 6 now should I shun all others? As you say each to their own, no one operating system is best and at the moment I am using my iPhone 6 as my daily driver and I really like it and if it was smoother and had a better camera then it would be even better.

I would love someone to go over my post to show how I'm a troll by the way or do you think that anyone that says anything bad about Apple is a troll?

Now off you go back to kiss apples butt :D

I think the Milanese loop looks pretty good. I bought the 42mm version. Here's me trying it on.
