Exactly. As much as I like OS X (I have completely converted over every pc in my household), it is not "perfect" for everything. I am now doing development and sustaining work on my company's linux-based products, and wanted a development environment without the problems associated with a mixed windows-linux setup. I took my Macbook to work to see how well it would work, but there are just too many workarounds that must be done to OS X to make it work well as a development station. I finally decided to go with a linux box, and wanted to try ubuntu, but for some reason the cd that I burned would not boot, so I installed fedora6 instead. So far it is working out really well. I still hope to try ubuntu in the future.my task recently is to convert rm video to avi, sorry, OSX can't do it. at least not for free. so I have to do it on ubuntu....
see, the point is, OSX is only perfect for "some task", not "any task".
