Let me start out by saying I love the look and feel of the case, the lack of "real" drop protection (and the added screen lip) doesn't bother me one bit, in fact that is what drew me to this case. I hate scratches on my phone and had zero history of dropping previous phones. Typically I would just put a skin on my phone which would prevent scratches of any sort happening on the exterior of the phone. I HATE SCRATCHES, on a phone that is upwards of $1,000 or more especially on a phone that looks as beautiful as an IP12/IP12Pro....it just looks tacky to me.
Anyway, it only took one drop of my new phone and an apple care incident to swap out my mangled (stainless steel side) to realize, maybe its time for a case. From the research I made, the Peel case seemed perfect for me.
With that said, this case is VERY expensive for what you get, these cases probably cost less then $3 to make (uneducated guess). My main problem and the reason i am writing this review. After 3 days of being on my phone the back of the hard plastic is already scratched up pretty good and has an imprint of the magsafe charge. And no I did not drag it across sand or gravel, this is litterly just from setting on a desk and moving to my pocket here and there. For the price of the case, you would think they could do something a little special and maybe put an antiscrach coating of some sort on it? (is that even possible?) I know it probably would have brought the price up a few more ($5 per case to manufacture?)
that's it, not a very thorough review, maybe more of "rant" then a review, just thought I would share.
Also I am quite aware people are going to come in and say "it's a case, that is what its for, to take the scratches and bumps that would normally be on the phone"
Well...I disagree, this case is made to show off the beauty of the phone (being a clear case) it should not be completely covered in scratches.
