I need help, I talk to an AT&T store rep and they were useless.
I also plan on upgrading tomorrow, but if I can't upgrade then gonna have to find an extra 200$.

I think you mis-typed. Your upgrade is up in 2012? If you signed a two-year contract, that means you didn't sign up until this Decemer. Are you from the future, or am I just confused? :D

Did you just buy a phone? I'm sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but if your upgrade date is in 2012 then AT&T isn't going to move you up so that you can buy an iPhone at the upgrade price.

OK, I will bite.

When did you purchase your current phone and is it an iPhone?

What type of phone plan are you on (individual or group)?

If it is a group plan is your line the primary line?

Dave

It honestly does not really matter as even if the poster is eligible, we can't change her date. Only AT&T would be able to do this. My advice is to call or go to a different AT&T store. :)

Call Steve on his phone, he said AT&T told him everyone who's contract expires in 2010 including up to 12-31-2010 at 11:59 PM will be eligible for an upgrade, he even stated 6 months early.

I purchased my Blackberry Bold in February 2009, I'm on a family plan and I'm on an added line

Sorry, but that is not correct. If you contract is ending in 2010, then you are most likely are and have been eligible for an upgrade. It is for all who are eligible.

Next time you plan to make remarks, please write the correct information. :)

First off I'm a guy, and second I contacted ATT and they had no clue to whether I was supposed to be eligible or not. Also the next closest ATT store is almost 50 miles from where I live.

They are moving up eligibility only for those with iPhones. Since you have a BB your date has not changed. I suppose you could ask ATT to move it up anyway but no guarantees.

I am sorry, I was doing something else besides typing. I usually do not make that mistake, but no need to attack me.

I am just saying that if they can't help you, neither can we. Why am I getting an attitude when I am speaking the truth. We can tell you that you may or may not be actually eligible, but what would that do?

OK, we can't help you change the date but we can explain the "why" part.

Since you are not currently an iPhone customer who would be eligible for a what is called a standard equipment upgrade by 12/31/2010, you will not benefit from the offer that Apple and AT&T offered this year.

Here is the link to the Youtube link where a very credible source (Seth) explains the iPhone Upgrade Eligiblity Offer

They should have been able to tell this to the poster. They were just probably not going to help you since they would not be making a sale off of you?
