Hello, Since I've started to exercise more, I decided to have an AW. I did much research even in Garmin and Fitbit products. Then I waited for yesterday announcement. I wanted a SE before, I want a SE2 now. It fits my needs. Question: should I wait reviews and unboxing videos before placing my order?

Totally agree with mk313. No need to wait for boxing or reviews on something like the SE2 (now, if you were getting the ultra....😉). Get that watch and, please, come back to this thread and let us know how you like it. You'll also get 3 free months of Apple Fitness. I happen to really like AF and, as it's free, I'd give that a try, too.

Thanks friends, you convince me. I'm on it today. I'll get back to you as soon as I have this little marvel (to me at least) on the wrist.:):D

Good luck with your new watch and delivery times! One thing I’d like to know is when will Apple Stores have the new models? And can I just do a trade-in when I go there in-person? I’m pretty sure that’s a “yes” but maybe it takes a few weeks or even months…

SE2 is fantastic value. No need to wait, it's similar to a Series 7 or Series 8, both are great. I think you'll like it better than Garmin and Fitbit, esp. if you have an iPhone. Pairing and operation is seamless.

Hi again. I'm in Canada so the price is a bit high here (329$ base model) but it is what it is...I am immersed in Apple ecosystem so the choice was not that difficult to make. If I weren't, I would have gone with Garmin. Delivery is scheduled for Friday 16. BTW, do you recommend buying a protector of some kind. I've seen a ton on Amazon but most seem to be prone to break, to interfere with the touch screen and create fog. If so needed, where could I find a reliable protector?

I'm assuming yes since when I went to order my AW 8 it showed I could pick it up on Sep 16. Or wait 7 weeks for delivery. I chose delivery to avoid a 160 mile round trip.

Awesome!!! Really, I’d say if you’re okay with having an AW with a smaller 40 or 44mm display (ie versus 41 and 45) that is not “always on” and that‘s short a couple of health sensors, the SE is a fantastic value! Maybe go into an Apple Store and try on the current SE and series 7 and see what you think! Whichever you go with, the display on the aluminum models can scratch pretty easily, so a screen protector might be nice thing to have. Personally, I like a minimal approach and the screen protectors from LK (search Amazon) seem to be very good (minimalistic…so you don’t really see them…..but protect the display from scratches).

My friend, I think so. You have the trade-in option on the website then you chose between delivery or pick up. I'd be surprised if thee conditions didn't apply in Apple Stores. I say: go for it.

So, for most Apple products, absolutely not. Not for iPhone, iPad, and definitely not for Apple Series 6/7/8 watches. I treat my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch like garbage and I've never, ever had a screen scratch. iPhone has been dropped, thrown, flipped -- no damage. My Apple Series 7 has been banged into all kinds of stuff -- not a mark on the screen. I clean them with alchohol or glass cleaner and paper towels -- I don't even care, I'll put any damn cleaner on iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch and I've never, ever had a problem or scratched screen in fifteen years.

But, the Series 7 / 8 and the new Ultra have sapphire crystals -- it's the same glass you'd find on a Rolex or other high-end watches. Sapphire crystal has excellent scratch resistance, it's only a small step down from diamond.

The CE comes with Ion-X glass. I've no experience with it, but it's going to be softer than sapphire crystal. Personally, I would not use a film or protector. I hate the damn things with a passion, they are a massive waste of money. But just be aware, a Series 8 or Ultra is going to have better front glass. Still think the CE is a great deal though.

The SE and the aluminium S8 have ion-x. The stainless S8 has sapphire.

I have an SE. I don’t use a screen protector and no scratches. I’m relatively careful though I suppose.
