I did a full install (no restore) on a 16GB 3G and no issues until I tried to connect to Visual Voicemail - both by tapping the voicemail icon and holding "1" - and it won't connect. It tells me the call cannot be completed as dialed.

I haven't seen any other mention of this in a quick cursory search - is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I called AT&T and they forwarded me to Apple, who is taking my info to have engineering look into it.

Me too. When I select Voicemail it automatically dials...WTF?!

Yup, that is what mine did.

It manually called my VMS system as if I was on a different kind of cellphone.

But I also got a password prompt.

I entered my password, and then it started working again.

Strange.

Mine wasn't working for about a minute or two after upgrading to 4.0 but started to work after a few tries.

Mine called voicemail, and I just stayed on the line until I got a prompt to enter my password. After I entered my password, hung up, and went back into voicemail from the homescreen, visual voicemail was working.

Call your phone from a different number (or the same I guess) and leave a voicemail. After a few minutes the box will popup asking for your visual voicemail password - put it in - then you can go to phone > voicemail and see the visual voicemail there.

Mine was screwed up also but I just entered my password and it brought back everything

I called my voicemail, entered my password. Hung up, then got the prompt to enter the voicemail password on the iPhone. All is good.

I wasn't even getting the opportunity to put in a password. Huh.

I just got off the phone with AT&T so it's fixed now.

How to Access Your VoiceMail After iOS4 Upgrade
