Since yesterday evening I have a problem with my watch 3. After the battery level dropped down to 10% I dropt it on the charger. An hour and half later I noticed that there was only 40% charged. When I took it of the charger the watch was HOT! And the screen went of. No reboot possible. This morning after a woke up I tested it again. On the charger the Apple logo pops up but no boot. Again it gets HOT just after a few minutes. When I take it of the charger nothing... No boot ....

I think a dead battery?

Stop charging it. If the battery is ‘hot to the Touch’, it’s defective. Your next concern is when the battery starts to bloat or become swollen, when then in return forces the display off. Never try to recharge your battery that won’t sufficiently charge and Continually overheats.

That’s why I, after a short test, stopped charging it. Believe me, I once saw a battery of a smartphone swell right in front of me. The last thing I want is an exploding watch. That’s why I took I to an official Apple store nearby.

Wow, actually witnessing a battery swell must be interesting. I've had a few do it but they went slowly.

Seems like maybe the battery is fried and can't deliver enough power to fully boot the watch anymore.

That might be the case. Something went wrong when the watch was charging. But what? The battery that I saw swell was when I tried to remove a battery from a Huawei P9. They used very strong glue on the battery. When I slowly tried to remove it I made the mistake to bend it to mutch. Immediately after that the battery started sizzling. Got very hot and started to swell. Then I rapidly trowed it outside on my lawn 😁 I thought it would explode. But after a few moments gas was escaping from it. And that was it. After an hour I removed it from the phone and left it outside for a week. I was afraid that it would explode inside the house. But that never happened.
