Did you ever have to remove it? If so what was that like and did it leave any marks?
I removed a skin from Sopiguard on a 12.9 MK, and it left a little residue that was easy to remove with an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Some of the skin vendors even provide instructions about how to safely remove the skins. There are numerous videos out there about how to do it too. It’s not hard at all.

The online vendor to whom I sent it to sell agreed it was in excellent condition.

I agree with @Kyle76: skins are a great way to protect your MK. The most popular brands are D-Brand, Sopiguard, and Decal Girl, but there are others mentioned in these threads:

I have the white keyboard and purchased the dbrand skin for both the iPad and keyboard. I’m only think I have to manage on a routine basis is wiping down the keys and skins that I applied on both devices

I would not used nail polish remover, may harm finish, use lighter fluid, great solvent for getting rid adhesives from tape, stickers and removing grease stains. I have been using it for 50 years and has never harmed a finish.

Mine also has black marks on it after just a few days. I think it is from rubbing against my bag when I put it in there and take it out. They don’t wipe off.

Years ago I had a black leather zippered pouch with black interior for my iPad. I had a matte skin on the back of my rose iPad and that would pick up black from the pouch. I don’t remember how I got off the black dye but stopped using that pouch.

I just received them on Tuesday. I got the 11” and 12.9” white magic keyboards from Verizon and they already have black scuff marks on them and I cannot get them off. I spent a lot of money for this to happen so quickly. Im not sure what happened. I’m not sure Verizon will take them back. Will apple do anything? Is there anything I can do to get these marks off. I’ve tried numerous things and nothing is helping at all.
Try using a magic eraser. I use it to clean my Matic Keyboard and Apple smart cover and it works great!

Whew, Magic Erasers, I don’t know. I’d be pretty hesitant to use them because they contain formaldehyde, and the scratchy surface is melamine foam. Are you sure it didn’t cause any damage?

I can only speak for how well it works on my black magic keyboard case. Its the only product I’ve found that works effectively. Ive used it on mine a few times and it looks brand new. YMMV.

What about trying a Clorox wipe on the stains? I can’t speak of the effectiveness on the white keyboard as I haven’t had to wipe mine yet.

The magic eraser works great on the black one, doesn't do much for the white one though unfortunately.

You’re not alone. I had a brand new white MK and within 2 days it developed multiple lines like your images. It was barely used and stored alongside another magic keyboard and iPad. The sleeve on my white AirPods Max have the exact same problem. I’m clueless as to what can be causing this as the surfaces being used for them are clean and I am treating them very gently.

I am happily perplexed as to how my white Apple products stay nice and clean and white. I always get the white cases, folios and now magic keyboard and never have a problem.

I was checking white Magic Keyboard two days ago in shop' s showroom and the white one was already dirty from people touching it. Mainly in the foldable part from outside.
But I have to say that the black one I liked much more.

As for return I do not agree that it is common defect that does not affect functionality. Yes It is true but from legal perspective this device is very expensive so buyer should expect functionality and higher quality in material for longer time as well.
I am speakíng from experience when I returned something expensive that does not look good but the funcionality remains. My friend laywer helped me to write this statement.

That’s what happens when you actually take care of your stuff and keep it clean. A simple wipe down once a week with a damp towel will keep these product looking pristine. Like everything else, a simple cleaning and common sense will make these products last.

It is not true. I bought few years ago original white case for iphone and after one week it was blue from my jeans and it was not possible to wipe down. But my fřoend from Apple refunded it to me.
From this time I never buy expensive original case for iphones. Folio for iPad yes but never white..

I'm not sure why people are expecting white soft material to magically remain pristine white. Any type of abrasion will result in a mark, especially with another colored material. And since it's white, it's obvious to the eye. That's the risk of having things in white. I mean what are people's actual expectation?

For years I have always had white cases, folios, keyboards and now the magic keyboard with no marks. Seriously, never have had a problem. Maybe I’ve just been lucky.
