for the last day or so on my ma mini some of my widgets are dead. like the clock shows the wrong time and m and not pm. the calendar is a day off. though some are working like istat pro and and a couple of others. any idea's on how to fix it?

Your system time could just be off. Go to

 -> System Preferences -> Date & Time

Check "Set date & time automatically" if it isn't already. If it is, uncheck it and check again to force the system time to update.

no the clock is on. I was just showing those as examples. some of the widgets respond when you click some won't do anything but let you move them.

Could be the widget plists in ~/Library/Preferences. Pull them to the Desktop, log out or restart the computer, and try accessing them again. You may need to set them up again.

rebooting fixed it. thats too much like windows. I could not even put my mini to sleet the power button would not work will I pressied it 3 or 4 times.

Good. Now you can work on helping those fumbling fingers find the period and shift keys. ;)

there were lots of periods but less shift keys. my fingers don't do what I want always. the same works get mistyped over and over. just the way it is.

Understood, just like you understood the light-hearted ribbing. That's why I used the ;). It's kind of like a grin when you're face to face; a signal that you're teasing.

No need to be an ass.
True. So why were you?
