My wife's IP5 volume button no longer works

Started happening a few months ago. She was able to get around this by going to the Accessibility and then Assistive Touch to use on screen volume controls.

Now it goes up and down randomly and on it's own.

Thing is, her phone's serial number qualifies for the sleep/wake button recall fix.

Do you think by getting that "fixed" it might help the volume situation, or no way.

Is there any other remedy? I have searched before and gotten no results.

Well, you'd have to get in contact with apple for that. But, it is the same flex cable. So getting it replaced would fix any issue with the lock button and volume buttons.

Awesome...she will get it repaired and hopefully that'll do it.

Just clean well with an alcohol swab. Buy from pharmacy.
