I believe My3G is only available through Rock. 3G Unrestrictor can be purchased through Cydia.

i was having the same problem last night with mine and my girlfriends new iphone - i installed my3g on both of them and couldnt connect - it turned out that i had turned wifi off in the settings instead of going in and forgetting network for my home wifi - after i did that i had wifi on but not connected to a network and it worked right away no problem

definitely a cool feature - people need to quit complaining about rock - if they are that concerned u can no rock crack it, but for $3 why bother? support the guy who made this app :)

Yeah, great idea: if you don't like Rock, find the cracked (read: pirated) version of My3G. Not exactly supporting the developer in that case, are we?

Or you could just support the developer of the original 3G unrestrictor by buying 3G Unrestrictor and not have to worry about Rock at all.

Just purchased 3GUnresctrictor (2-2.3) and it doesn't even start. Crashes each time I start the config icon. Anyone seeing this?

I decided to give it a try to My3G, FaceTime works perfect, but Youtube.app still downgrade the quality, it's not a big deal since I mostly use the webapp, but it bugs me a bit.

I think I am just going to go wit unrestrictor.

I'm having trouble getting Facetime to work over 3G. Just jailbroke my IP4 last night. Installed My3G 4.1.4 on my phone. Tried calling my wife's non-jailbroekn phone while I was on 3G and she was on wifi. I saw a notification that My3G was kicking in but couldn't connect. It kept saying "facetime is busy". Any help would be appreciated.

One more thing. I know that my facetime was not broken the jailbreak as I used successfully this morning when both I and my wife were on wifi. It's a My3G problem.

I have had similar problems with my iPhone and my3g as well over the last few days. I contacted the support for my3g right away once I noticed it not working on 3G suddenly bc for the first few days it worked great. They got back with me just as fast, for the first two or three suggestions about fixing it (which were things like "make sure FaceTime is turned on" and a few more idiotic stuff like that) but soon I quess they realized I wasn't a ten year old and got me to send a syslog to them. Then replies back quick again to tell me that I had some really interesting reg codes errors and they where excited to look into them? Exciting? Interesting? Well maybe for them? But me, it's just down right agrrivating! Especially since in the last three days and after sending several emails........I have heard not a peep from them????????? I mean I know their proably snowballed bc it's definitely not flawless and I can respect their hard work, but man, I gotta say I'm really feeling hung out to dry?
The problem I've been having now is FaceTime not working on 3G nor wifi. I can make the call but on the first ring in drops and say "call failed" and gives me the opinion to callback/cancel? Then I uninstalled my3g and turn my wifi on and could make a successful FaceTime call yesterday so that was my proof it was an issue with my3g. But as of now, tonight, it won't even work that way anymore? I will admit I'm no guru with all the packages and system codes or any of that, but do want stuff to work right! And not worst than it was before! Anyway just wanted to post my issues with my3g for anyone that can relate or I'm also open to anyone (nonsmartass)'s help? It's just I don't have anywhere or anybody else now to turn to for support.

Here's the thing about the people at Rock...

Great support until they no longer know how
to answer your question. Then, they just stop
writing back.

There you go! You said it. Glad I'm not the only one beginning to think that. Thanks. Last I heard from them, they were stumped and advised me to restore through iTunes! Wow that helped¡... ha... it only took me four hours of fighting throughout "can not restore iPhone " error codes and almost loss everything. MAN ? Why didn't I think of that? Haha But finially with no help from them got it restored and rejailbroke then got 3G unrestrictor through cydia and back to FaceTime on 3G!

anyone found any solution to the facetime busy when one side calls but works when the other side calls issue?
Almost makes me want to go stock fw again, if not for mywi :(

Well, I finally got Facetime to work past the one minute "barrier" on two occasions today on 3G and using My3G. The first call was earlier in the day and it lasted over 5 minutes. The second call occurred five hours later. Here is the breakdown.

Phone: both are iPhone 4 using (4.0.1)
Carrier: both phones are AT&T
Wifi emulator: both phones are using My3G (4.2.5)
Call type: both Facetime calls were 3G to 3G
Location: Me in Northern California, My Friend in Southern California

Call #1 at 11AM
Me, standing outside in a parking lot away from structures, 4 bars, unknown download and upload speeds.

My friend, standing outside in a parking lot away from the tall office building where she works, 4 bars, unknown download and upload speeds.

Call duration was about 5 minutes.

Call #2 at 4PM
Me, inside my apartment using 3G, 4 bars, speedtest showing average download speed of 759 Kbits/s and upload speed of 504 Kbits/s

My friend, standing in the same spot as call #1, 4 bars, speedtest showing average download speed of 982 Kbits/s and upload speed of 476 Kbits/s

Call duration was 7 minutes 18 seconds using a stopwatch. Call duration does not include "Connecting..." time but actual video connection time. We ended the call because her break was over.

We ran the speed test seconds prior to initiating the second Facetime call.

We have been trying Facetime over 3G for several days, but the call would disconnect before the one minute mark. The only thing that changed today was that I told my friend to walk away from the tall building. This allowed the call to stay connected. I guess Facetime over 3G is finicky. You can't do it wherever you want. Conditions have to be optimal (strong signal) in order for the Facetime call over 3G to stay connected past the one minute "barrier."

I had the same problem and as suggested by someone else on this forum i did a "reset network settings" and it worked perfectly afterwards. I tested it with mine and my wife's phone before and after the reset and the only thing that fixed it was the reset.

To reset go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Thanks for the tip! I found your discussion with the guys on another thread. A little while ago my friend and I performed the Network Reset, we were able to connect via 3G without a problem.

I am surprised we were able to have our Facetime conversation this afternoon without knowing about the reset.
