I do this regularly. This is what I based my original statement on. How many languages do you speak?
I understand sometimes one gets confused and starts reading the subtitles, or use the wrong language in the same way one forgets that the movie is 3D (weak effect or too much conversion floating around).

But having an adequate number of showings with appropriate subtitles is still a necessity, in the same way there should be some for people who require dubbing.

Having movies only in original language without subtitles, or only close captioned, or only dubbed, or with too few choice of subtitles is a great way to make the box office smaller.

Netflix is worse when it comes to selection of subtitles than theaters. And they have a horrible habit of translating some movie titles regardless of the user language so that it is hard to identify them.

So you're monolingual and like subtitles. I can accept that. Being multilingual, I appreciate a separate soundtrack and no subtitles.

Fantastic, and useful! I wonder if they'll follow this up with other languages?
Yes, we'll be releasing all of the languages that the Hollywood studios provide us.

Fantastic idea, I'm just wondering why with the target demographic they called it *MY* lingo.

Good question. Our app will be providing soundtracks in all of the languages recorded by the studios so we needed a more global name.

Sounds like a good way to piss off everyone around them, and get theater staff to remove them to me.

You can ONLY listen to the audio through headphones. Theaters have welcomed this with open arms. The app even dims your screen immediately while in use so as to not disturb anyone.
