I have both, I tend to use Facebook more often though, it seems to be easier to use.
I think the novelty wears off with social networking when you start to add too many friends.
It's hard to keep up with updates to peoples pages, the good thing about Facebook (and now Myspace) is the news feeds, which helps but still; it was fun when I had less than 30 people people on each and I'd visit people's pages as it was too overwhelming to keep up.

Myspace is something Microsoft would jump all over.

They won't jump on it, Google already did, Google got an advertising deal for MySpace and some other News Corp sites. So Microsoft went to Facebook and bought 5% of it (probabably to stop Google buying it, just like when Google bought 5% of AOL to fend off MS). IMHO Of course.

Neither is true.

Partially true as per my previous post:

I think he was referring to the iTunes WiFi Music store feature on the iPhone that will show the Starbucks option when you walk into a participating Starbucks (and allows you to preview and purchase the song currently playing in that Starbucks.)

It was supposed to be rolled out in Los Angeles by end of February 2008, but I haven't found a Starbucks anywhere here that has implemented this yet. Still just in San Francisco, New York and Seattle as far as I know.

Front-facing camera on current iPhone?

Hopefully the next iPhone to come out way down the road will have the camera on the front so we can do iChat video conferencing. That would rock.

In theory, the current iPhone may be able to achieve a front-facing camera. Apple has a patent in place which describes a way for a display's pixels to capture an image in front of them, rather than a traditional camera lens:

Apple Integrated Sensing Display

Perhaps this capability could come as a software upgrade?

I guess this would be kind of cool. I have a myspace and a facebook, but a month or two after signing up for both, I pretty much stopped using them. IMO they are both pretty much the same.

at this point i'd much rather have facebook also.

use facebook alot more. but sometimes i need to check myspace.

myspace is so two years ago at this point. they haven't upgraded at all.

I agree. Not huge either way, but facebook is definatly what is currently in. Mspace still has a lot, but most of the poeple I know use Facebook a lot more. On that note, so what. I don't know the general consensus on the population of either of them, and shouldnt base it on my community. just my thoughts. I do think facebook is a lot nicer than Myspace too. Myspace isn't even in the iPhones dictionary. =] facebook is however. Hmmm. Makes you think.

MySpace would be a cool app. They have a FaceBook webapp and it would be cool to have a Myspace one. I hate using MySpace on an iPhone. It's really hard! Any idea if they would charge for the app?

First Off... Myspace is old. Sorry... Myspace is like a Pager. Everyone that didn't need one ran out an bought one 10 years ago... two years later, those same people stop using them. Same with Myspace... most people that ran home from work or school to check their myspace don't use myspace anymore. True, Bands on the road update their myspace regularly, and 16 year olds... but apple isn't going to go after Myspace. Myspace has a bad rap recently with Dateline, Peds, Creeps, 16 years old, etc... At work if you tell someone your on myspace it's a Joke! Seriously! Does Apple really want to be associated with that? Plus like it was brought out, Myspace is a mess. I'm sure some developer will create an App for Myspace, but I don't see Apple promoting Myspace or developing their own App. Besides, Imagine all the Crap people put on their page loading... even the songs that play. Half of it wouldn't show up right. So the App would really have to be scaled down Allot!

Second... if Apple Does create an App for Blogging... it will be Facebook. Come on people... were the hints not that obvious? Facebook on Apple TV? Jobs even demoed Facebook on AppleTV. Remember when Jobs called Starbucks when demoing the iPhone and ordered 2,000 Lattes? Later in the year they released the Starbucks App for the iPhone. Apple has been using iTunes to demo future looks and direction of Apple... aka Leopard Finder, so think iTunes... or AppleTV... 'Jobs Hobby'. Also, Facebook is a competitor to Myspace. Can't have Myspace on an Mac or iPhone with Facebook right next to it, and expect Apple to promote this.

You have to remember everything Apple does is carefully thought out and in Synce, kinda like 'iLife'. Take for instance Youtube & Apple...Youtube on iPhone, AppleTV... even iMovie has exporting directly to Youtube. Facebook is on AppleTV and in sync with your iLife package. Apple and Jobs have never mentioned the words 'Myspace.' Instead, Apple is going after Facebook... it's cleaner, and the direction Apple is going.
So where does Myspace exactly fit in all of this? No where.

My thoughts.
I need myspace on my iPhone so I can get to the nearest sluts in my neighborhood hehe...
Myspace SUCKS!

Why anyone would post their personal information on Facebook or Myspace is beyond me!! Kids these days do some strange things. Actually, I guess that there are probably grownups that are doing it as well.

I actually created a Facebook solely because of the app for the iPod touch in Safari. One of the best web apps I've ever used, clean, fast, and overall great. Now, I'm trying to phase out MySpace out of my life and envelop Facebook.:apple:

it's not a question of which social site is going to have an app.all of them will. It would be a bone head move for any site like those not to.

ZZZZZZZZZ

I am not 16, I don't have time to socialize like some people.
Good for those that can use it.

WWWWWWWWEEEEE

I am 16... actually just turned 17 two days ago, so I am really excited.
MySpace has a lot going on on each of it's pages, so hopefully an iPhone version will only have the necessary bits and cut off all of the annoying ad space.

Twitter?

while you all are going on about facebook/myspace.....

how about a native twitter app? I gave up on myspace/facebook a while ago (over hyped).

:apple:

Also, Facebook is a competitor to Myspace. Can't have Myspace on an Mac or iPhone with Facebook right next to it, and expect Apple to promote this.

First off- Aren't Yahoo! And Google competitors? Well already on the iPhone you can choose which search engine you would like to use.

BUT even more relevant to this quote is on the springboard of the iPhone there is GOOGLE MAPS app right next to a YAHOO! WEATHER app! I know they aren't exactly the same thing, but they are still competitors.

Secondly- There is already a native iPhone app for myspace. Its called MOBILE SAFARI! Unless they are planning on making this app SUPER awesome I will stick to safari since the iPhone is the first phone to offer the complete Internet.

AND

Myspace mobile is a sack of horse... Shoes. It has less functions and it is lame. So unless they add something unique I will stick to safari!

What I really want is a way for me to edit and contribute to my .mac blog I made in iWeb! I can contribute to my web gallery from my iPhone, why not my blog?

The best phone in the world meets the worst Website in the world.

I will admit that I use myspace, but I agree with you 100%! I am saying that in a reference to the actual coding of myspace. It is so poorly written and has WAY too many bugs and is too easy to hack! Plus what is this race to have the most friends? What do you achieve by haveing over 3,000 friends when you have only talked to maybe 5% of them more than once?
