Mysterious features on Apple TV

Can anyone explain the following to me?

1. In Podcast's on Apple TV : Show hidden episodes. I click Yes nothing happens. When I exit and re-enter that show its back to default.

2. In Icloud Photo;s there is a magnifying glass with an arrow pointing down in the right hand bottom corner. What is this?

Also did Apple ever fix the sorting in Itunes?

I have a ton of podcast's that I sorted alphabetically manually because the sorting was broken. I am afraid to do a sort for fear it will screw everything up again.

Thanks in advance for any help or information.
