I used some cheap primer I got at a hardware store, and then I put on two coats of white glossy acrylic, I believe. I then put two coats of gloss over that. When it dries, it's like a damn rock. Good stuff. Nothin' seems to scratch it, very smooth and shiny.
I had originally gone with black for it, but my test run seemed to scratch a lot, but it turns out I just hadn't let it dry for two days or so. After that, it was impervious to anything. White looks good, though!
OK, well, for this one you'll have to make some modifications to the paint job
The body is white, right ?
so on the edges where the sections come together, you paint a wide light-brown stripe, and then at the very edges, a dark red pinstripe.
I honestly still don't know about the name. My girlfriend made me a very cool phoenix stencil which I'm going to use on the back instead of flames, so it kinda makes some of the names suggested moot. I'm probably just going to go generic, and put something like "Powerbook Ti" or just plain "Powerbook".
That, or I could write "iBook" on it, and try to pass it off as a leaked photo of a widescreen Intel ibook.
