iPad Pro Name One reason you need MacOS on a tablet ?

You have to try Sidecar with MacOS 27.

It effectively makes the iPad a Mac OS device. It works that well with touch now. With this, you don't need it to run natively, trust me. You have to try it to see. It also may be a sign that running Mac OS native is next. I was a bit meh knowing they added touch, but should have realized that when Apple does something, it's going work really well, and feel natural, as Sidecar does.

Just get the beta and try it. It may be enough to hold you over. I know I'm going to be using it a lot.

Ok everyone’s been thinking about it. Now it’s time to put up or shut up.

Why do you need MacOS on a tablet ?

I don't I just need Apple to stop screwing about and actually put a proper windowing UI in there not... whatever this is.

I don't need/want macOS - but if it's going to pretend to be useful with a keyboard and trackpad, enable a proper UI for that - the potential is there, the current iOS mouse/keyboard UI just seems deliberately worse.

I don't know about the tablet but being able to output MacOS to a monitor whilst maintaining iPadOS on the screen has all sorts of handy implecations. Most people can probably make do with an iPad as their main computer but for actual 'computing' things like coding, flashing an iso to an SD card or even looking after an MP3 collection a regular computer is needed.
