Naming a hard drive

I have my first LaCie d2 quadra external hard drive and will likely get another sometime in the future. Is there a way you can name the device (The manual doesn't cover this?)

Open up Disk Utility and you can rename it from there. I'm not sure if you will have to reformat the drive to do this though.

Just click on its icon that appears on the desktop to highlight it, press return and type the new name.
