Krispy Kreme was always big in the South, then in the 1990s they initiated this crazy expansion (I assume) across the country and... over expanded. Where I lived in the South Minneapolis suburbs, they sprouted up all over including the Mall off America and closed a couple of years later. They over estimated the demand for their donuts. :eek:

You can never have to many donuts :D
 
Krispy Kreme's Hot Donuts Now light always attracts me like a moth to flame.

We also have a local shop celebrating it's 75th year called Britt's. Yep, that's a link to it's fan club site. They're freakin' delicious. Like the craft beer version of a Krispy Kreme donut. They're on the Boardwalk and only open during the Summer. Lines stretch for blocks during peak season.
