Seeing as the new MacBooks ship with USB3 is it likely this native support can be easily extended to 3rd party PCI-e cards like the NEC based ones that are very cheap on eBay? I have one which worked in 1.7 with the LaCie driver but no joy in 10.8 DP4.

All the 3rd party cards use an NEC chip and will require a different driver from the Native Intel one.

I was under the impression that part of the xHCI standard was some kind of driver unification.
