New app in Cydia allows you to use TomTom for navigation after you search for a location in Google maps. Been looking for something like this forever but was hoping for Navigon integration instead of TomTom. Anyone know if anything for Navigon exists?

This is a great app, purchased it yesterday night. I have both TomTom and Navigon, but I prefer Navigon so I wish they release a similar tweak for Navigon.

+1

and is the app in cydia is called 'navigate from maps' ?

Alright I got the app and it's installed, I've checked in Cydia under Manage but for some reason the option is not in Maps when I search for something. Does anyone know how to fix this or is there an option I need to turn on?

i would try rebooting your phone.. that should do it. i do not have it though, hopefully a navigon version will be out..

ps... i am not trying to be rude at all, but you do have tomtom installed correct?

Holy ****!!!

I've been wanting something like this forever.

I always thought it navigon sucked because you can't easily search for locations unless you have the EXACT address.

Ex. on my buddy's Evo, he can go to navigation and type "statue of liberty" and it will give him directions from Florida all the way to New York.

In navigon on my i4, I type "honeymoon island" a popular state park about 12 miles from my house, and it can't find it!!

Navigon's POI and Google local search are basically useless. I have to open safari, get the address I want, then manually type it into navigon, which takes a while.

+1.. it works very very well. much better than the navigon google implementation

This is awesome! As mentioned, it can find locations that are damn near impossible to locate from within Navigon. Huge improvement, well worth the $2 for the package.

You guys don't use AroundMe? It's in the App Store, and it's free. Integration with Navigon and Tom Tom.

It's not inside the Maps application, but the (optional) category refinements and such make it a significantly better implementation than simply searching around using Maps.

What repo has it?
