The status bar on my iPhone 6+ shows an arrow icon indicating that I have a GPS navigation program in the background. I've made sure that my Google Maps app is not running, but the icon remains on the bar. I understand that this is a battery drainer and would like to get rid of it, but how?

It's not really a navigation icon as much as it simply is an icon showing that an app or a system service is using location services. You should be able to go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and see which app or system service is using it. From there you can either turn it off or perhaps just close the app if it's from an app.

Yes, that's what it is. I simply deleted all the apps on Location Services, and will restore them one by one. That way I'll see which app is causing this icon to pop up. Thanks very much.
