If the iPhone and iPad is so powerful now, why isn't the full version of 2K on iOS? Is it too difficult and costly to port a game just for the few gamers that would be willing to sync a controller to their iDevice?
I think there a whole lot of reasons, but you're right. Also, I think the way economies work in the game would be difficult to have on iOS, etc. (I know that microtransactions are a terrible reason, but). The amount of work it would take to keep iOS in feature parity with the main game doesn't work economically either, considering how thin the margins are. People think NBA 2K rakes it in, but it doesn't. It does well enough, but not enough to put resources anywhere other than advancing the game where it can do the most for the most people.

I tried REALLY hard to enjoy Apple's content services (Arcade, News+, TV+, Fitness+). I hate them all and stopped paying for them. I hope Apple discontinues them and focuses on more important endeavors that don't involve force-feeding us pablum for the masses.
I have about 5 Arcade Games on rotation to use in the 'wind down' parts of my day.
News+ is my go to.. and I regularly read their magazines (especially the gardening ones). Bit mainly use it for a news and Sports.
TV+ has some great and not so amazing shows. Like any streaming services.
Fitness+ is great to help people off of the couch. 'Turning up is the biggest part of the battle'
