Hi, I'm wondering if there is any way of tricking the NBA League Pass Mobile app into thinking I am logged on from a different city.

I am asking this because I live in Los Angeles and I want to be able to watch my local NBA teams on blackout dates.

Btw I have a jailbroken iPhone 3gs. All help is appreciated.

Yea, I would like to know this. I won't be able to watch local games all the time and would be nice to watch it wherever I go

I've been wanting to do this for such a long time with MLB At Bat. If we could figure this out, I'd be so grateful.

That's going to be a daunting task because the app actually uses the phones GPS to determine your local to blackout the games, it's not as simple as changing a zip code or area code.. there would have to be an app that can alter the gps settings..

Given all of the hacks that have been created (backgrounder, iblacklist etc) that "intercept" API calls to the phone, one could imagine that the API call to the GPS could be "hijacked" on an app-by-app basis to accomplish this.

Now, all we need is a Developer to do this. I know I would GLADLY pay $5.95 for this functionality :)

I'm all for trying to bypass your location to avoid blackouts, but I mean couldnt you just watch the games at home, or do all of you travel that much that you can watch games at home?

It's just nice to be at work and pull out my phone and be able to watch a little bit of the game.

How about a slingbox for all the local games?

Why spend 150 bucks when I can have it for free or cheap.

    There's gotta be a way

League pass is $40 and thats per year. If you get a SlingBox and use it for the next 3-4 years it would be well worth it especially if you use it for more then just basketball.

But it's obvious what he means by having it for free.

Not really. I paid for the app, and will continue to pay for the app and MLB At Bat with or without live games at home.

I didn't read it like that... He did say "free or cheap" not just free.

My bad. Guess you should edit out the having it for free part then.

Since I would buy this app either way, I don't see it as an expense. I see slingbox as an expense.
