funny how arnett apologized for his statements after learning he was fired. then upon learning he had a job again, he retracted and said he stood by his statements!
whomever said picking him up for your newspaper was your gain can certainly have him. how about revoking his citizenship and sending him back to new zealand.
arnett commented that pictures and reports of civilian deaths were having a negative impact on u.s. public opinion were blatant lies. support for the war has increased since it's inception. reporters are supposed to report the truth, not the b.s. he was spewing!

I always thought reporters were supposed to report their perception of the truth. Or is there only one truth?

so how did mr. arnett percieve that the images of civilian casualties were having a negative impact on u.s. support?
maybe amongst his own colleagues in the liberal, anti-war media there was such a reaction. however in tax-payin, voting, english-speaking america there has been a climb in support for the war since the beginning.
evidently his perception must have been so far off, because a u.s. based media outlet won't touch his resume for some time.
oh wait..., being from england and defending his perception, you should be ecstatic that mr. arnett can so accurately portray the status of public opinion. because he will be doing it for one of your media outlets now:rolleyes:
