I'm waiting for Apple to solve this “subscribe to everything” trend that's been going on for years. I can't wait for Apple TV and Texture to drop, and offer a be-all, end-all bundle solution with Apple Music! Couple that with the free Apple News app, then I don't think I would need to subscribe to anything else.

How will Apple give you a decent tv show/movie bundle with that when everyone else is making their own streaming service?

It’s not just the pricing that is an issue, it’s all the inconvenience of having to download and hop from app to app to find something you want to watch. And hop from app to app even trying to find your show if it’s moved to a different service. And learning the different interface. And the different expiration date rules that a different service might have. It’s all just completely annoying.

Everyone said they wanted to be able to choose their content... instead of being locked into dreaded bundles.

Well here ya go... :p

I still prefer buying seasons of shows on iTunes, true a la carte.

NOPE, NOPE, AND NOPE. As others have stated, I will not be paying for yet ANOTHER subscription. For as much as I love SNL, and for as often as I actually watch it, I will not be paying that $15.

If I understand, this is mainly aimed at “cord cutters” right? So I’m already paying for basic cable and that would be getting me access to this.

I’m really sick of the subscription crap. Everyone wants to stick that straw into my monthly funds and suck it away. No thanks. I’m all for paying for things and supporting this and that but enough’s enough.

This is surely getting out of control. Plus, NBC is owned by Comcast, so stay far, far away from this service.

I am not sure why there is so much hate on the streaming subscriptions, streaming doesn't usually have contracts and can be cancelled at any time, or just used a few months a year.

I used to HBO only during GoT, and catch up on all other HBO shows I was interested in during that time, although I now have a $5 a month deal with HBO.

I do the same with Showtime and Stars too, usually about two months a year to catch up on a few shows, then cancel.

Many times, I get emails with free month promotions or reduced rate promotions for a certain amount of time. Stars had a $0.50 per month promotion for 6 months last year.

If people are paying the full $15 a month for every streaming service, for every month, and then complaining about the cost, then they are streaming wrong imo.

Goodbye $100 cable bill. Hello $100 streaming bill.
I am sure that $100 in streaming subs would provide much more content than what one could get from a $100 Cable TV bill, at least in my area.

Besides, if someone is trying to save money on their cable TV bill, but still spend the same amount from streaming subs, then they are probably not good at managing money.

Translation: "If I don't like the price, I feel totally justified in committing theft - because watching these shows is my right". How nice. You could also just not watch if you don't like the price - if enough do that, then the prices will adjust.

Your interpretation is far more condescending than my intention. More tongue and cheek really. I meant "If I don't like switching between so many different streaming apps, I can go back to my old setup of (Yes, illegal) RSS feeds piping into Plex for convenience"

In reality I might just get an OTA antenna and try out the Plex recording features when the time comes
