Near Crash while in screen capture!

I was running screenflow and firefox for about 5 mins then I clicked parallels then it started to bounce really fast. My fans startes to go faster, then faster, then faster. It froze for about a min then I shut it down with the power button. Is there something I was not supposed to do or was this just a random crash?😕
