I am wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to acquire one of the NEC 32 inch 4K monitors. I know they are in short supply.

I understand MPG has had one for a while. He published a brief report that indicates that it's plug and play on a nMP, albeit with a few annoying Apple bugs. But I'd sure like to see some additional comments from other folks before I put down $3000.

I have NEC 271W and an Apple 30 inch cinema display. I generally prefer the NEC monitor and would love to ditch the Apple in favor of 4K.

I have two of the NEC PA271W screens and have used them for photo editing for over a year. Since the UHD screens a so much better for reading text, the PA322 looked good. At $3000 though it was a bit much for the larger screen with no improvement in the color accuracy over the current monitors.

So I added a Dell P2715Q for the UHD, and it covers 100% of sRGB. It is used for reading text and other tasks that do not require wide gamut. Photoshop menus go onto the Dell and the image goes onto one of the NECs, one of which is in portrait mode which is a real luxury.

Yes, the price of the 32" model is rather steep.

I have the same NEC monitor as you and like it very much, but I prefer the aspect ratio of the 32" model.

However, while I find using two monitors is an advantage in certain scenarios, most of the time it strikes me as awkward. So the larger real estate of 4K is something I'd like to try.

I guess these are still so rare and expensive that few folks have acquired one.

Here is what it looks like next to two 24s and below a 29 for comparison:

Hey ! Wow ! You got it !

What can you say about color uniformity on a white background ?
Had the EA244UHD here but it was shocking bad, did not even work on Yosemite with strong reddish / greenish tint on left / right half of the screen.

If you stare a minute or so into the screen showing a clear white background, in the night when just light bulbs brighten the room, what can you see ? Is it homogenous or not ?

Thanks in advance !
