First I'd like to introduce myself. I'm 13 and not really new because I have been reading these forums since the first PMG5's. One, year ago I purchased a iMac G5 together with my parents for my bro's first communion. It was a testing ground for me and the OS X platform. Need less to say, I love it and I couldn't stand a PC anymore. That brings me to today.

I am ready to purchase my own Mac with the money that I made this summer doing web-design. I need a MacBook Pro along with an external display, since that should fits my needs rather well. My budget is $2500 dollars. I will be using it for Adobe CS2 and Studio 8. But I want to stretch that money as far as it can go. And I would like some advice.

1) As far as the external display is concerned, I have am very attracted to the 20" ACD, but can not justify its price compared to the Dell 24". Dell seems to offer lots of coupons and such and I would like to know How cheap can I get the 2407WFP?

2) My aunt attends collage and can get me a EDU discount on the lappy. That was my original plan until I found that the ADC program offers a juicier discount. I have also heard that You get Leopard free when you sign up for ADC. True?

3) Like I mentioned above, I will be using Studio 8, specifically Flash 8. How well does the Flash IDE run?

4) I plan on throwing in an extra gig of ram. Where is the best place to get cheap, good quality ram for it.

So all around what I want to know is if it is possible to 1: Get a MacBook Pro via any possible method. 2: Throw in extra ram to make it 2GB's 3:Get a 24" external display. WHILE staying around $2500 USD.

I look forward to hearing your responses and posting on these forums.🙂
