I'm using a program (MDRP) to rip my DVDs into m4v files and I think the 5.1 audio on the DVD is being mangled during the conversion. It's too hard to tell exactly what's going on by watching/listening to the converted movie because everything is changing too dynamically. Is there a small DVD iso in existence containing some audio test patterns (e.g. "this is the front left speaker, this is the rear right speaker...") that I can pass through my ripping software to confirm what's happening to the converted audio? I've scoured the web for over an hour and couldn't find anything in DVD iso format that would do the trick. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks - I knew of the existence of several DVD test discs that you could purchase, but I was just after a free downloadable DVD iso that had some audio on it that identified the speakers separately one by one. I think the 5.1 audio on the original DVD I'm converting to m4v is being turned into a surround sound thing where the rear speaker audio becomes mono (i.e. no separate left ot right). I just want to run the m4v conversion program on the DVD test disc and see if it is actually doing this. I could spend the $25 or so, but figured something basic like what I was talking about existed...
