need a heavy duty iphone 3G case

my husband is wanting an iphone, but he drops his current phone occasionally. I need to know a good heavy duty protective case that will protect his phone in case it hits the ground. I have a silicone case on mine and I know it is not enough protection for him. Thanks

otterbox Defender = protection on construction site, boating, skiing, Jeep-ing, snowmobiling, rain (no it's not waterproof, but i don't worry about phone talking in the rain)

total piece of mind and it looks brand new when i take it out of the case for inspection...... if you need absolute protection leave the "built-in" screen protector on..... do a search in this forum for "otterbox defender" and you find a boat load of threads.....
