I am trying to rebuild a 5th generation iPod video.
I accidently broke the brown battery retainer clip so I can no longer get power to the iPod's motherboard is it possible to find a new part? Unless someone has an idea on how to retain the ribbon cable into the iPod's motherboard.

Anyone? Or a I going to have to go the route of purchasing a used motherboard or maybe another used ipod for the parts?

    Hi again,
I snapped the brown piece too and was able to click it in again.

    Torsten,

I've uploaded a photo of the clip (for reference as well) as you can see one arm is busted right off.
So there's no way it will secure the battery ribbon cable as is...

Thank you for the Photo. I think you have to buy a broken iPod 5G, 6G or 7G. The defective 5Gs are quiet cheap.

    Regards
