Hi -

I am curious if there is a freeware program that will remove my hidden internet files? I know that we can delete cookies and so forth, but nothing is ever really "deleted" permanitly (sorry I'm a horrible speller).

I am curious if there is a program that can delete my unecessary hidden files, for free, to protect my privacy and leave my computer with a clean bill of health.

Thanks!

you can do this in Safari by choosing "Reset Safari…" and "Clear Private Data" for Firefox. then to be even more secure you could erase the free space on your hard drive using Disk Utility.

you'd have to manually drag the files through a data shredder app, like "Permanent Eraser." Or do a zero-out of the free disk space via Disk Utilities.
