    Hi Everyone

I have had an apple 27 inch monitor for years and its starting to go, it flickers alot now. its connected to my 27 inch 2014 Imac. its been wonderful but am thinking about replacing it now. I would like min 27 inch but could go a little larger, up to 34 if needed.

I do mostly music, and home movies/photo's so do like a nice clear monitor.

I would love any recommendations and would prefer a TB conected one so i can just plug it in where the apple one is, but if there is a better way I would need to knwo what adapters and ports I would need, and need to use

    thanks!

great thanks for that, yeah i saw the HUGE cost diff in non Tb and TB monitors to.

Looks like i can get a nice 32 inch or so HDMI or mini display port and just get an adapter? to TB? or do you mean jsut plug it int via display port on the imac? SOrry jsut always had the apple one via TB so this would be the first time without one.

    thanks!

The "thunderbolt port" IS the displayport.
The "displayport" IS the thunderbolt port.

1 port with 2 different functions.

To connect to a display with displayport, get a displayport cable.
Actually, you want a MINIdisplayport connector at the Mac end, and either a displayport or Minidisplayport at the monitor end (depends on what the monitor has).
