Been using a wired connection, and it is no longer an option. Apple sales was unable to help me, saying that they have not sold wireless cards since 2009, which I find hard to believe.

    Any advice?

There is a TP-Link card that you install in a PCI-express lane. It's got 3 external antennas and would likely provide better reception than the internal Airport card.

Thanks. While I have this thread open, what are my options for graphics card upgrades? I have a windows partition, and it can barely run really simple games that I'd prefer to be able to play on something. It's not an issue when I use it for music production.

And more importantly: are the video card options getting slimmer and slimmer as time progresses?

There are only a handful of cards that work out of the box with both Windows and Mac OS X.

Anyways, the internal card is a piece of junk. It's not that the card is crap, but rather the placement of the antennas on the underbody of the Mac Pro.

Any BCM94321 and 22 full size mPCIe card will do. You can get one for next to nothing and it will be recognized OOTB as genuine AP (minus "third party wireless adapter" in ASP).
