hi guys

Last night I went to the football and took some pics. Even though I was pretty much pitchside I had to really pinch in to get a photo and because of this lost a lot of quality (photo attached).

Is there a detachable lens that would fix this problem for next time as like I said I was real close but the pic doesn’t do it justice.

Thanks guys

Olloclip cases support detachable lenses but it looks like they've dropped support for the 6s. You may be able to find something on Amazon or other third-party seller sites.

So would a zoom lens such as the one above fix or avoid the problem that I’ve mentioned? It baffles me slightly as I don’t really know much about images. For example if I was to take the photo attached again with the zoom lens it would look a lot better..?

To be honest Im still not having much luck.

All I want is a zoom. Not a fisheye, nada, just an extension to make long range photos better quality, does this even exist for an iphone 6s?

Sorry to be simple but the zoom extension, does it have a particular name..?

Sorry, not sure why I didn't get a notification for your reply.

Yes, I would assume using any sort of third party attachable lens would improve the quality of your shot. Have you looked into the cases at the link I provided?

I did but youre right, they dont have ones for 6s.

To be honest, even on that website, I still dont know the name of what Im looking for, none of them say zoom...

Telephoto is the word you're looking for. Zoom is a lens where you can alter the focal length. Wide angle captures a wider field of view - lower focal length. Telephoto gives a narrower field of view - higher focal length. Standard iPhone camera is 28mm so anything higher than that will give a more "zoomed in" photo and lower will be more "zoomed out"

Have a look on Amazon and search iPhone 6s Telephoto.

Wow thanks so much!

That set looks absolutely awesome. So the higher the x value of the telephoto, the more it can zoom..?

The reason I ask is because there is a similar set with a 14x zoom.

Primarily Ill be using it for wildlife and sporting events and quite often Ill be at a distance when shooting these

Get a real zoom camera.

There ARE tele lens ranging from 2x to 20x or more (i do have that one) but the quality will be even worse. For now, only Moment 2x and Sandmarc 2x have the least amount of distortion around the edges.

Regarding the longer zooms, say 10x or more, you will have a hard time focusing on an object and still, the distortion around the center is a lot. There are videos on Youtube reviewing such lenses and see for yourself, but I wouldn't recommend using an iPhone and external lens for your purpose.

Another option would be using a binocular and capturing photos inside of it with the phone but that's just too much of a hassle.

As alpi123 says, if you're going to be doing this a lot, I'd recommend a dedicated camera. You can pick up a bridge/superzoom camera such as the Panasonic DC-FZ82 for about £250 and that will give you a 60x zoom. They do tend to be quite bulky however.

You need a real camera.

Even if you get an camera lens kit, it'll be a hassle to use. And you'll end up with photos that are only passable.

A small point and shoot camera that fits in your pocket offers 8-12X optical zoom.

I'll agree with those who said just get a real camera. iPhone is great for stuff 5-10 feet away (or landscape photos) but not sports. You need a good zoom and not even the 2X on the iPhone is enough.

Looks to me like you’re boasting how close you are to Messi ;)
