what's a fast and dependable 1tb hdd?
samsung, wd? what are some specific model numbers? (i've seen hdds from the same manufacturer with the exact same specs, but different model numbers...one will have good reviews and the other bad.)
anyone used different hdds that has some perspective?
i'll probably get 2 for a raid array also.

I have this WD 1 TB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136317 , I can't say a bad thing about it. I switched to WD years ago after going through a few faulty Seagate drives. I find WD to very reliable and I have never had a problem with one.

WD's Caviar Black 1TB is good one what I've heard. My friend has 4 of those and he has been very satisfied.
