Hello all,

I am not sure if this is the best forum for this question.

However, i am looking to replace the screen for my MacBook Air and it seams extremely pricey in replacing the LCD let alone the entire screen enclosure. The LCD is cracked and mainly is the only thing i would like to replace.

So i am just popping "MacBook Air A1466 Screen (or LCD)" into eBay and the results are far from a result.

I was wondering if there is any chance of obtaining a list of screen enclosures or LCDs i can use?

So the specifics are as follows.

MacBook Air A1466 - Mid 2012
MD231LL/A - Core i5
S/N: C02HXCG4DRVC

I appreciate any help you guys can give.

Tried contacting the Apple Geniuses but as per usual, they cant give me any info.

Thanks
Mike

The Air screen is generally replaced as a unit; I have never seen the LCD separated from one. I suspect Apple used lots of adhesive to make it thin, thus rendering it nearly impossible to repair. Even things like a defective Airport antenna (which is in the display alongside the LCD) call for replacing the display assembly...

Agent 47 is right, you need to replace your entire clamshell. Can't just do the screen.
They don't come cheap im afraid.
