sold my iMac Pro on eBay a while back and it went fine - took about 3 weeks but got within 5% of asking. a few things that made the difference: required signature confirmation on delivery, only shipped to buyers with 10+ feedback, and shot a short video of it booting before I boxed it up (with serial number visible on screen). had two "item not as described" attempts afterward - eBay sided with me both times because of that documentation.
for something at M3 Ultra prices I'd do all of that plus include the serial number photo directly in your listing. the serious buyers will notice; the scammers won't bother.
