Need advice on secure disc image I made

Good morning. Well, besides it's very hot and humid here in Detroit. Can't complain though, the snow will be here in a few more weeks I am sure. 😱

Anyway, I made a secure disc image of 500mb using disc utility. Worked great until I checked the "lock" box located under the "get info" tab. I can no longer modify the image, add files, etc. The problem is the lock/unlock check box is no longer there!! I tested locking and unlocking other files and folders and it works fine. Any suggestions on getting my image unlocked?

I'm not at a Mac to try this, but you may be able to unlock it using the chflags command. From Terminal,

chflags nouchg directory

You could also try downloading one of the many little apps that lock/unlock files that you drag-and-drop onto them. Examples:

...or do a search for "unlock" on VersionTracker.com and you'll find more.

I would recommend making a backup of the file first, though, just in case something goes horribly wrong.

Thank you for the replies. I was not successful with either suggestion. I was able to copy the files out and blow the image away and start a new one though. I'll be sure not to lock images anymore.
