Hi! What is best practice when creating a brand new apple id? Use a current non-icloud email address or sign up for a icloud email address? Right now I'm thinking about using an icloud-email id for icloud services and an separate non-apple email for itunes purchases.

Based on your experience, what would be the most flexible solution? I'm trying to get it right the first time. From what I understand it's not possible to change or merge accounts later.

i never use icloud, but when signing up i always use gmail address.. would never even think of using personal ISP, that's asking for spam regardless which company it's from, and I guess the only reason for a icloud address is to be unique in some way...

Its still an Apple ID, so there is no privacy needed there. except u may not want people to find out your actual recovery email address. Again, not big deal if u have your email kept secure.
