Hello,

I am newbie in Mac programming. I did programming in Windows platform but mac is totally different experience for me. I want to develop one application which will allow user to register and install one file on mac computer but this file will only work on same registered computer not on any other computer. If user want to use it on different computer then he has to registered one more time.

Is it possible to make this kind of application? Please recommend some software and book for mac programming.

Thanks,
SK

Just today a discussion about identifying machines has come up:

Tracking that a user has installed something already would require keeping a database of registered machines on a server you control. This might take a bit of work. There is a link on getting started programming on the main mac programming forum page.
