Hello,
I have just gotten a new Mac Studio M4 MAX and I am experiencing a problem that is driving me nuts.
The machine is running Sequoia and I am connecting to an AT&T router that works just fine with both my Mac Pros (2010 & 2013) but NOT this Studio. When I boot this machine and open Safari it will load the search instantly BUT if I try another search it won't load... You see the search bar advance then freeze. If I reboot or unplug and re-attach the network cable and try a search the same thing happens.
does anyone have any idea what the heck is going wrong? I am getting ready to throw this thing out the window.

Hmm....

Try the following, in no particular order:

1. Try connecting to the internet via an ethernet cable (from Mac Studio to router).

2. Try connecting to the internet via Wi-fi (from Mac Studio to router).

Please report back here to update us on the outcomes.

Agree with above post.
The FIRST THING you need to try is an ethernet connection directly to the router.
If you have to move the Studio to do this... do it.

Already done this... using a blue Cat5 cable... No dice... The Studio has a 10Gb Ethernet so I am wondering if that could be an issue... I wouldn't think it would need a different cable, but I don't know. Will try using only the routers wi-fi next.

Try wifi, or even your phones hotspot.

If you bought this at the apple store, box it up, and get it exchanged - the thing with Macs, is they're completely plug and play (to use an old term). If your other computers are easily connecting to the internet and the studio isn't then something isn't right.

Also for giggles, use a different browser.

OP:

Some more thoughts (you probably addressed this already).

Is the Studio the only piece of hardware you have that has 10gb ethernet?
Or... do any of your other devices have that, as well?

IF the Studio is the only one with 10gb, have you considered that the AT&T router may not be able to deal with 10gb?

I propose a test:
Open System Settings -> Network.
Select ethernet and click "details".
Click "hardware" and in the resulting pane, choose to configure manually.
Now, set the ethernet port speed down to 1gb.

Click OK.
Probably might be a good idea to shut down (power all the way off) and then reboot.
After rebooting, do you have a connection?

Again, you may have tried this already, but if you haven't, might be worth trying.

If my "solution" does work, it might be worth asking AT&T if they have a more recent router that better supports 10gb (but you've probably already done this, too...!)...
