the hardrive went bad and i need some disks. it was using os10.5 when bought. now i do have discs from a macbook pro from an older model. Will this work? just to get strated?
If not where can i get the start up disks?
Stranded

No, they won't work. Contact Apple...they'll send you replacement discs for a nominal fee.

In the future, if you have an external disk, either make bootable backups, or restore your OS X disks to a partition on your external. This way, you won't need the disks to start over when next the drive (or computer) fails.
