Hey,

My friend just purchased my Dual 2.5Ghz Powermac G5. It had an ATi 9600XT w/ 128mb. He won't need an adapter for that video card correct? Just purchase a DVI based monitor and he's set?

All Macintosh graphics cards for the past 5 or 6 years have a standard DVI port. So yes, as long as the monitor has DVI in he is set. If it is VGA he will probably need an adapter but a DVI->VGA adapter is cheap. You might even be able to get one for as little as $5 if you shop around.
