I remember seeing a while back about an app that allow you to define regions on your screen so when you maximize a window it will only maximize to the area that you set for that region. It's great for high resolution monitors. Does anyone know of an app that can do this?

Sounds like a useful app, never come across it though... but :-

I've had a somewhat similar issue with Word - where it will open files in odd size windows... and found some useful scripts to 'zoom' the window (and magnification and window position) to whatever i wanted with a keyboar d shortcut.

It's a long post but in it you'll find my reference to the scripts - hopefully you can use/modify them to query the windows size and postition you want and so on....

here's the link to the page for word window sizing to give you some ideas...

hope it helps...
