Hi. I have a black Macintosh PowerBook G3, 1999, and I don’t have the M3037 45W Charger/adapter. Does anyone have an extra one? The ones on eBay are $30! I’m not paying that! Does anyone have one I can buy off them? Just want to boot mine up :)

Thanks, Christian

I purchased an iBook/PowerBook G3/G4 third-party mains adapter for £10 GBP from Amazon UK almost 12 months ago and contrary to the scaremongering about these products, it hasn't caught fire, burned out or caused damage to my iBooks.

Yeah, but I need the 9.5MM. I looked and the sellers online on eBay/Amazon say it’s for a PowerBook G3 when it is actually an iBook/PB G4 fit.

I had a 45w adapter for a PowerBook G4 which had a damaged cable, so I snipped it and spliced on a 3.5mm TRS audio (headphone) plug from a local electronics store for 50 cents.

There is some information on wiring it up here:

I looked at that. Cool stuff. Oh and I found some adapter that looked like a headphone jack cable. I plugged it in. It wasn’t enough wattage but happy to see a cord that fits :)
