hankolerd macrumors 6502 Mar 5, 2008 #2 seems weird that quicktime won't play mpeg4. try downloading VLC it plays pretty much everything.

mkrishnan Moderator emeritus Mar 5, 2008 #4 Agreed with the various comments above, but FWIW, there are basically two sets of codecs you should need on a Mac in addition to what is shipped: The Windows Media Components (aka Flip4Mac) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx Perian (which covers a variety of other things like AVIs and DivX) http://perian.org/ You should pretty much be set at that point.
