Hello, need your help please. One day every one of my desktop files disappeared. It happened so fast i know they didn't delete. They are ALSO gone in my finder and when i go to search for them they do not pop up either. However, if i opened them recently in textedit.app i can pull them up still by going to the recently opened section and saveing it somewhere else where i can see it again.

So i'm thinking if i can pull up a known folder that used to be on my desktop via Terminal i can then rename it and be able to view it again. If anyone knows the terminal command to open a folder that is t on my desktop (user name: chadteetzen) called "EMS edu." please let me know. OR if you know of another way around this situation that would help to. Thanks for your time!!!! I don't know anything about terminal and i have tried to read help guides on it but i'm lost...

Your desktop files aren't gone. Force quit/relaunch Finder and they will all come back. (Apple logo -> Force Quit -> choose finder and pick Relaunch.) No need to bother with terminal.
